Socialisation in Online School: What Parents Should Know

For many parents considering online schooling, a major question is: Will my child miss out on social interaction? It's a valid concern, as traditional schools offer daily face-to-face contact. But social development doesn't have to stop in a virtual setting.

In fact, at LEO School, we've designed our program to support strong socialisation. Students regularly participate in group projects, live class discussions, and virtual clubs, where they collaborate with peers and build lasting friendships. We also organise in-person meet-ups and events, providing valuable real-world interaction.

Online learning also helps our children develop crucial 21st-century communication skills, such as:

• Writing clearly and effectively

• Expressing themselves confidently online

• Collaborating with classmates from diverse backgrounds and locations

Most importantly, social skill development in our online school happens in a safe, structured environment, often with more individual attention and flexibility than in traditional settings.

With encouragement and guidance, children can thrive socially – learning to connect, share, and grow both online and off.
