Not all graduate jobs are created equal. Although university degrees aren't cheap, some graduates find it difficult to get a well-paid job after university for several months and even years. As Bloomberg wrote this year, the job market on the whole has become increasingly competitive, and many companies are holding back on offering new graduate jobs.
