The latest school news

Dear All,

The Summer Term is always the busy in school.

We have some students sitting their first ever LAMDA Drama exams and we wish them well in those.  For years 9 and 11, the Summer Term brings them choices of what they wish to study for IGCSE in September (year 9) and which subjects they wish to specialise in at A Level from September (year 11).

For the Senior School, IGCSE and A Level formal examinations have now started and will run right through until mid- June.  Unlike in many UK schools which hold revision classes until the end of the Spring Term, our revision lessons will run for these students until the 17th May to give the students the best possible support from their subject teachers.

For Students from year 4 upwards, June will see testing fortnight where they are tested on the work that they have studied this year.  Results of the tests will be published on the platform  and in the student's reports which will be published in early July.

Finally, I am happy to announce our first-ever in-person alumni meetup! It will take place from August 5th to 8th, 2025, in London, bringing together students from across our community. This special event will be a wonderful opportunity to connect, share experiences, and celebrate being part of the LEO School family

Student-Led Projects Make a Big Debut at LEO School Over the Easter holidays, students from Years 7–9, Year 10, and Year 12 took on an exciting new challenge — our very first cross-Key Stage, student-led project initiative!

Each group, made up of mixed ages within their Key Stage, was given a range of global and age-appropriate topics to choose from. From environmental issues to social justice, the subjects sparked real interest and discussion. The students then took full ownership of the process — from research and planning to dividing roles, meeting during the break, and preparing a full presentation.

To support their independence, a project guide was provided, but all the organisation, teamwork, and creativity came from the students themselves.

Now comes the most exciting part: presentation time! Each group will present their work, and all participants will receive a certificate recognising their effort and collaboration. The winning team in each Key Stage will be awarded a special winner's certificate. Judging will be done by a panel — we believe achievements like these deserve more than one opinion!

This is the first time LEO School has undertaken a project of this scale, and we’re incredibly proud of our students’ initiative and dedication.

The winners will be announced in the next newsletter — stay tuned!
