This has been an incredibly busy year for LEO School as we continue to grow and thrive.
Our geographical range of students has increased with students now as far away as
Australia and the USA.
We have now broadened our academic offering and now offer more IGCSEs and
International A Levels than ever before with our A level students being offered a free choice of subject combinations with no restrictions, unlike in most schools.
We offer more optional courses now and one of our most popular is the Drama course which
we run on a Sunday morning. Taught by a working British actress who is also a teacher for
LAMDA (the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts). Students are encouraged to
take these internationally recognised awards which are held by a number of famous British
Actors.
For our optional courses we are also offering more languages than ever and can now offer
beginner, pre- exam and exam- level lessons in French, Spanish, German and Mandarin!
Our pastoral offering has increased and all students up to the end of year 11 now study
PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) weekly.
To encourage socialising in a safe environment, we also now have after school chat rooms
for students to use.
This summer we are running our first ever summer meet up in London for all students and
their families who wish to participate. Over 5 days, those taking part will have tours guided
by LEO teachers of many famous historical and educational sites including the world-
famous Natural History and Science Museums and the National Gallery. This is in addition
to seeing the iconic sights such as the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar
Square and Downing Street.
At LEO School, we are an inclusive school and do not have an entrance examination.
However we are results driven and our students are fully supported through their academic
journeys from the age of 5 right through to 18. All our students are offered and encouraged
to take the opportunity to continually improve their English skills to enable them to get the
absolute best out of their education.
Our qualified teachers monitor their progress in class, through weekly homework and
through twice yearly tests (for students in years 4-13). Parents received twice yearly detailed
reports which show the progress of the students and highlight ways for them to improve
further. All these factors support students to be the best that they can be and encourage
students to take ownership of their learning which gives them a strong foundation for further
study at Degree level.
