From Online Classroom to Oxford Publication: Ruby Rose's Cambridge Education Journey

At LEO School, we are always inspired by our students’ drive to take classroom learning beyond the school walls - and Ruby-Rose N., one of our A-Level Psychology students, is a shining example of that spirit.

Psychology in Action

Earlier this year, Ruby-Rose shared a touching message with her Psychology teacher, Ms Marina Melia, describing how lessons at LEO School have helped her find new motivation and meaning in her daily work life.

While working at a real estate company, Ruby-Rose was inspired by Andrade’s (2010) study on doodling, introduced in class, and decided to apply the Working Memory Model to her professional environment. She proposed adding soft instrumental music to the office — a simple yet effective way to maintain engagement and focus.

The result was transformative: productivity and morale increased significantly, and the work atmosphere became more collaborative and positive.

“Your expert teaching didn’t just help me understand psychology,” Ruby-Rose wrote to Ms Melia.

“It helped me apply it to real life, enhancing not only my engagement at work but also the wellbeing of my colleagues.”

Ms Melia described Ruby-Rose’s story as “a wonderful testament to how learning at LEO can inspire students to think deeply and make a difference in the real world.”

Academic Excellence Recognised by Oxford

This summer, Ruby-Rose took her passion for learning even further by completing a Business, Economics & Finance Research Internship with the Oxford Scholastica Academy, working under the guidance of Oxford University tutors.

During the internship, she produced an original research paper titled “Trusting the Machine: AI in Robo-Advisory Platforms”, which has been published on OxJournal — a platform showcasing outstanding student research.

In a letter to LEO School, Co-Director of the Oxford Scholastica Academy, praised Ruby-Rose’s work as “a very impressive piece of research and writing.” Ruby-Rose also received a glowing Letter of Recommendation and Certificate from her tutor, who described her as “an outstanding budding academic” with a bright future ahead.

“She should be very proud of her achievements, and we hope to welcome more talented students from London Education Online School in the future.” - said co-director.

Inspiring the Next Generation for Education

Ruby-Rose’s journey beautifully demonstrates the essence of LEO School — where learning leads to confidence, curiosity, and tangible real-world impact. From applying psychological principles in the workplace to publishing academic research with Oxford tutors, she embodies the power of inspired education.

We are proud to celebrate Ruby-Rose’s achievements and thank her for allowing us to share her story — one that continues to motivate both teachers and students across our community.
